Indianapolis 500 and "Moth at the Window"

Welcome to the Moth at the Window blog! 

If you started reading the book you know that G.W. (my grandfather) and Cyrinthia (my grandmother) married in 1911. 

On May 30, 1911 the first  race was held. Ray Harroun won that day with an average speed of 74.6 mph.

  2. 1911... wow! I didn't realize there were car races so early in the development of cars. I can't imagine going that fast in THAT car!
